Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is seeking action on flooding in The Compa, near Kinver.
Gavin contacted Staffordshire County Council after a series of residents raised concerns to him about recurring incidents of flooding in the neighbourhood.
They stated that stagnant water has covered the road since December, despite numerous complaints to the local authority.
According to the residents, the flooding is caused by the soak away drains becoming blocked with silt from the nearby fields, as it is washed away by rainwater. Once the water subsides, it leaves behind a heavy coating of mud across the affected area.
Residents are now seeking a long term solution to improve drainage on the road.
Gavin said: “This situation is not acceptable. It is appalling that local residents have been forced to live with flooding for months outside their homes. I have contacted the Council to request that action is immediately taken on this matter and that a long term solution is put in place to prevent flooding in the future.”
