Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire visited St Nicholas’ First School in Codsall last week to officially open their new wrap around care facilities.
The school has recently seen an increased demand for before and after school care, after feedback from parents. The new care facility offers an active and stimulating learning and social environment each morning from 7.30am until 8.45am and again from 3:30pm and 6:00pm after school. In addition to this, the school also offers learning and care session for 3 year olds each day at 11:45am.
Commenting on the new facilities head teacher, Miss Jodie Parker, says, “This facility to date has been a resounding success, offering a warm nurturing, family centred approach to childcare. Indeed this has been so successful that when parents come to collect their children many are reluctant to go home.
“We are delighted to have the support of our local MP Gavin Williamson, who is a regular visitor to St Nicholas’ First School, here to formally open our newly refurbished care building, with adjoining gates playground and field space.”
On visiting the school Gavin commented: “I was delighted to be once again invited back to St Nicholas’ First School to open the new wrap around care facilities. I think it is fantastic that the school is actively listening to feedback from parents and creating this wonderful new facility.
“St Nicholas’ is a very well respected school in the local community and it was a pleasure to see how well the school is developing and how pupils are progressing because of the outstanding work of the staff; that takes place each day.”
