Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, officially launched the ‘Kinver is Open’ event, on Friday, following the recent completion of a series of new road improvements in the village.
The event, which was designed to promote business and tourism in the area, took place at the Dunsley Hall Hotel, where work is due to commence shortly on a new extension.
The new build will bring a further 35 jobs to the village, a figure that is predicted to rise to over 60 on completion of the project.
On the event, Gavin said: “This village has a huge amount to offer visitors and, with the recent road works now complete, this event was the ideal time to show the world that Kinver is open for business.
“It is important that local businesses continue to invest in the future. I welcome the jobs that the extension of Dunsley Hall Hotel will bring to the village and believe this project is just the first of many good things that will happen to Kinver and the surrounding area over the coming months.”
Attendees on the day included South Staffordshire’s tourism boss, Councillor Bob Mccardle, Councillor Brian Edwards and a series of local businessmen, such as Lloyds Bank regional director Brian Cartwright and Kinver Business Association chairman Andy Calloway.
