Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, will be attending the SSCVA Volunteering event at Trinity Methodist Church in Codsall from 10am to around 2pm on Saturday 4th July.
Gavin is a patron of the SSCVA and recently gave a keynote speech on the important of volunteering to support the most vulnerable in our society.
The SSCVA will be inviting as many groups and organisations from South Staffordshire to attend the event which will see the community and voluntary groups have displays to promote their own individual schemes.
The day will also see a number of awards and certificates being presented. This will be the third time Gavin has supported the SSCVA’s Volunteer Award. He launched his own award last year to recognise volunteers in South Staffordshire who have gone the extra mile.
SSCVA’s volunteer centre in South Staffordshire, provides assistance to individual volunteers and volunteer involving organisations, which is a part of the West Midlands Volunteer Centre Network.
Gavin said: “I am a huge supporter of the many volunteer groups that we have in South Staffordshire and I’m immensely proud of the work that volunteers do to support the most vulnerable in society. The SSCVA do such a fantastic job and I am looking forward to celebrating their achievements with them on Saturday.”
