Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is encouraging residents to support community projects in line for grants for the Aviva Community Fund.
The Aviva Community Fund, a nationwide initiative that lends a helping hand to grassroots sports clubs and community causes, has reopened for a second year to offer funding of between £1,000 and £25,000. The fund will finance over 800 projects across four different fund levels and six categories, spreading our awards to communities throughout the UK.
Currently there are four South Staffordshire based projects in line for funding which include the redevelopment of Harrisons Football Ground for the Wyrley Juniors Football Club, an athletics track for St Chad’s School, Pattingham, a trim trail outdoor play area for Perton Middle School and the refurbishment of Coven Playing Field.
Commenting on the fund Gavin said: “This is such an exciting opportunity for local community groups that are in need of that extra funding boost. There are many groups right across South Staffordshire who work so tirelessly to bring our community together whether in sport or youth clubs and all four projects are brilliant examples of our villages coming together to work towards improving facilities for our young people.
“I would urge residents to go to the Aviva website and support these brilliant local causes or indeed submit their own project for funding.”
