Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, dropped in to the CASS Living Well With Dementia Group recently at Codsall Village Hall.
Gavin took part in their musical event at one of the meetings that are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month that begin at 11am until 1pm.
CASS has provided support for thousands of adult and young carers in South Staffordshire since its foundation in 1996, exploring opportunities to help carers in Staffordshire and the West Midlands. CASS employs a small team of staff who work hard to raise awareness of the needs of carers with professionals and the public.
The Living Well with Dementia Group provides information sessions for those who are caring for those suffering with the disease. It also provides time for carers to socialise, make new friends, have an opportunity to get to know carers in similar situations to share experiences and talk on a one to one basis with professionals.
After his turn on the dance floor Gavin commented: “CASS is such a vital, fantastic support group that provides such an essential service to carers in our local area. It was inspiring to meet carers from South Staffordshire and hear about their experiences.
“There is no need to book into these sessions that CASS hold on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Codsall Village Hall. They are a brilliant way for carers across our local area to connect with each other and wonderful professionals who can offer advice to those who need it. I’d like to thank the brilliant members of staff for all the work that they do to support those who make such an invaluable contribution to our society.”
