Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has called on the Council to resolve the problem of school transport from Pattingham to Codsall High School
Gavin has been contacted by parents of sixth form students at Codsall High School, who are concerned about the bus service between Pattingham, Perton and Codsall. Sixth form students at Codsall High School currently have to disembark the school bus at Perton in order to carry on their journey towards the school.
Many parents depend on school transport and have complained that the school has not properly informed them about the new decisions to the transport arrangements and that there is an inadequate amount of seats for students.
Gavin has called on the Education Authority and the School to resolve the issue
Gavin said: “I am very concerned that students are having to disembark from the school bus in order to catch public transport. It is neither logical, nor beneficial, to their education as it has been reported that they are arriving late to their lessons.
“Children and their parents are constantly being given different instructions on the times and destinations offered by the bus companies. It is ludicrous that there is not a set timetable in order to get students to and from school safely.
“This whole situation is barmy. There is an obvious solution, to get a bigger bus. I have contacted the County Council and the school and will continue to do so until this issue is resolved.”
