Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has called on the Chief Executive of the Highways Agency to improve road noise on the A449 by improving the condition of the road surface.
A number of constituents have complained about the noise created on the stretch of road on the A449 near the Coven Islands. Noise caused by trucks, trucks and heavy traffic between 1 and 4am is keeping residents awake.
Gavin has called on the Chief Executive of the Highways Agency to improve the condition of the road, ensuring that residents that live close to the affected stretch of road are no longer disturbed.
Gavin said: “A number of residents have contacted me regarding the road noise on the A449 in Coven. I have called on the Highways Agency to see if there is anything that they can do to improve the condition of the stretch of road which is causing so much of a problem. I will continue to push for a resolution so that local residents will be able to sleep better at night.”
