Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has backed a petition for improvements to be made to the pavements on Love Lane, Great Wyrley.
The petition, which has been signed by almost 100 local residents, describes the state of the pavements as ‘disgraceful and hazardous.’
Concerns have also been raised that elderly people living in the area could trip and injure themselves on the uneven surface.
Previous complaints have reportedly been made to the Council by residents, without action being taken.
Gavin has contacted the Council, urging it to respond to the petition and to take action to resolve the issue.
Gavin said: “This is clearly a matter that the residents Love Lane feel extremely strongly about and I would urge the Council to listen to their justifiable concerns.
“Broken and uneven pavements are not just an eyesore, they can be extremely dangerous. I would urge the authorities to take immediate action to repair these pavements to avert the possibility of any future accidents.”
