Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, attended Perton Christmas Fair on Saturday.
Despite the weather, hundreds of guests turned out in Perton as it held its third annual Christmas Fair, in Anders Square, at the weekend.
Visitors had a variety of activities on offer ranging from fairground rides to face painting. The guest of honour at the fair was Father Christmas who stopped by his grotto in Perton Library after having to miss the event a few years ago. Volunteers served refreshments in the Church to those who were escaping from the rain.
All funds raised at the fair are put towards funding the Christmas lighting display around the Perton area for future years.
After attending the event Gavin said: “There is always a great community spirit at Christmas in Perton and I had a wonderful time at the Christmas Fair.
“I would like to pass my own congratulations to all those who had a hand in organising this fantastic event. Without the hard working and committed volunteers who fundraise throughout the year, to put money into the community Christmas lights, this event would not go ahead. Perton Christmas lights have previously been cancelled due to funds, so I am delighted that due to the effort of all those involved Perton will be lit up for the festive season.
