Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited the Enville Summer Show at the Enville Cricket Ground, on Monday 25th August.
Despite the rain, visitors took advantage of a varied range of entertainment including a parade of the hounds from the AlBrighton Woodland Hunt and a display of around 28 classic cars and military vehicles.
Gavin presented trophies to winners of a range of competitions, from best produce to best WW1 costume.
One of the highlights was a South Staffordshire take on the Red Arrows, the Green Barrows, who replaced aeroplanes with wheelbarrows.
Gavin also had a surgery stall where he met and spoke with residents about issues that were concerning them in the local area.
Gavin said: “I had a wonderful time at the Enville Summer Show this year. Residents came from Stourbridge, Kinver and across the West Midlands to brave the rain and enjoy a fantastic day.
“The WW1 theme of the show truly reflected the wartime attitude of soldering on through the dismal weather and we did not let the rain dampen our spirits. I would like to thank Diana Williams and the other members of the organising committee for a brilliant day.”
