Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Codsall Christmas Fair last week as the event took over the village on Friday afternoon.
Following on from the success of the first Christmas Fair last year, this year’s event took place in and around Codsall village centre including Station Road, Wood Road, Church Road and part of Wolverhampton Road.
Gavin met the members of the organising committee who marshalled the event and have been working hard to surpass the 3,000 visitors that attended last year. Visitors had a wide range of activities for all ages to choose from including live music, trade stalls, hot food and fairground rides. The traditional "Carols around the Christmas Tree" took place accompanied by choirs from local primary schools and the Salvation Army band.
Commenting on his time at the Fair Gavin said: “I had a brilliant time at the Codsall Christmas Fair last week. It was great to see so many Codsall residents enjoying themselves proving that this event is extremely popular. Carols around the Christmas Tree is one of my favourite moments in the Christmas calendar and hearing the Salvation Army play carols really puts me in a festive mood.
“Many thanks to all those on the organising committee and the many stallholders, local businesses, Codsall residents for putting on another wonderful Christmas event and for all their hard work and effort that they put it into the Fair every year.”
