Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is supporting the Midlands Business and Community Awards that are taking place this weekend.
The awards, which will take place at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill on Saturday from 6pm, have been created to bring both the community and business world together to raise money for five leading charities.
All proceeds made on the night will go directly to these five selected charities, Olive Circle Foundation, Whizzkidz, Live Love Laugh Foundation, Breast Cancer Now and Compton Hospice.
The brainchild of Zoe Bennett, these awards will celebrate individuals in both the community and business world who have gone beyond the call of duty in their everyday lives. There are a number of awards which are open for nomination with 12 different categories ranging from Community Unsung Hero to Community Fundraiser of the year Award.
Commenting on the upcoming event Gavin said: “I am very much looking forward to attending the Midlands Business and Community Awards this weekend. This event just shows how lucky we are to have so many truly amazing people in the West Midlands.
“I’m immensely proud of the work that volunteers do across the West Midlands to support the most vulnerable in society. I would urge all those who know someone in their lives who think they deserve recognition to visit the website and nominate them so they can be recognised on what I’m sure will be a brilliant evening.”
