HGVs at Seisdon Landfill

Gavin has written to request a meeting with managers, after receiving a number of complaints from local residents about the dangerous driving of lorry drivers, using the local landfill site, and the muddy state of the road leading from the tip.

The complaints follow a hearing that took place in 2012, which gave permission for operations to resume at the landfill site.

Planning permission for the landfill site was originally granted in 1973, but it was closed in the late nineties following the decommission of the Wolverhampton Incinerator.

Gavin said: “I have requested a meeting with the operators after a number of local residents got in contact with me about concerns that they have regarding heavy goods vehicles coming in and out of this site.

“This matter has caused a great deal of distress and concern for residents and I am determined to see that this issue is resolved.”
