I’m proud to share with you the success we’ve had with Operation Bormus, an initiative the Staffordshire police have undertaken to clamp down on vehicle crime across the region.
Since the Operation started in June last year, arrests relating to vehicle crime have risen 55%, with more than 10% of those arrested receiving convictions. The commitment by Staffordshire Police to a specific vehicle crime team has targeted theft and trafficking of vehicles, and ultimately means that our streets and properties are far safer.
I know crime and anti-social behaviour is an issue many of you care about. That’s why I’m glad to have worked with Staffordshire police on this important issue and I will continue to support Operation Bormus as it makes incredible progress in tackling car crime.
